Ben Lankester

Ben is a London-based director and photographer who has travelled worldwide working within music, film and commercials, specialising in cars and location-focused storytelling.

Ben founded The Progress Film Company in 2010 with partner Matt Hopkins. Progress is a contemporary film studio making commercials, digital content, branded entertainment, animation and feature-length cinema under one roof.

Ben has worked on award-winning campaigns for brands as diverse as Hyundai, KitchenAid, Converse and Microsoft, while his ongoing portfolio of films for Land Rover continues to be motivated by the driver’s relationship with the natural world. His recent direction for the brand’s iconic Hibernot campaign was met with high praise, with rave reviews in Little Black Book and David Reviews.

Ben’s music video work has seen him direct promos for an increasing number of unique British artists including Suede, I Like Trains and Hudson Taylor, as well as international acts such as Lang Lang. His music reel includes More of the Same Tomorrow, a twenty minute music video / short film hybrid shot in Warsaw, which explores man’s relationship with time, progress and destiny.

Ben is currently developing his second feature following 2016’s A Divorce Before Marriage.
